Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary Overview
Spanning across the Aravalli range, the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is a biodiversity hotspot established in 1960. The sanctuary covers about 288 sq. km and is home to species like the Indian leopard, sloth bear, wild boar, and pangolin. It is also a paradise for birdwatchers, with over 250 species of birds, including the rare Grey Jungle Fowl. The vegetation varies from sub-tropical thorn forests to evergreen forests in the valleys. Jeep safaris and trekking trails offer visitors a chance to explore this rugged wilderness up close.
