Achalgarh Fort Overview
Located about 11 km from Mount Abu, Achalgarh Fort was originally built by the Paramara dynasty and later renovated by Maharana Kumbha in 1452 AD. The fort is famous for the Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple, which is uniquely known for worshipping the toe-print of Lord Shiva rather than a traditional lingam. The complex also houses a brass Nandi statue weighing 4 tons and several beautiful Jain temples. The fort offers a panoramic view of the Aravalli range and Mandakini Lake, making it a key site for history and spiritual seekers.
