Hawa Mahal also known as the Palace of the Winds in Jaipur is one of the most famous buildings in Jaipur. This masterpiece was constructed in 1799 by the Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Lal Chand Ustad is the architect who designed it. The magnificent five-storey Palace is a symbol of the grace of the Rajput architecture with the touch of the Mughal artistry. Hawa Mahal in Jaipur is made of red and pink sandstone, which is called the spectacular facade in the busy streets of the Pink City.

The Palace is known as the Honeycomb as it has 953 small windows known as jharokhas. These were windows that were decorated so that the royal women at the Palace could witness the festivals and day-to-day events on the streets without the people noticing them. The detailed latticework also enables the circulation of cool air in the building, which made it receive the name Hawa Mahal Palace of Winds in Jaipur.

Jaipur Hawa Mahal is one of the major tourism sites today and a must-visit site for those touring historical sites in Jaipur.
